Evolving Through Understanding

— A lesson from my son,  Riyansh

Sometimes the deepest life lessons do not come from books, podcasts, or motivational speakers.
Sometimes they come from an 8-year-old child saying something random while walking around the house.

Today, Riyansh casually looked at me and said:

“Life ko bahot seriously lo mat… because life hum ko seriously nahi leti.”

And then he moved on as if he had not just dropped a sentence powerful enough to sit in someone’s heart for years.

But I stayed there for a moment.

Thinking.

As adults, we carry life like a heavy bag on our shoulders.
Every mistake feels permanent.
Every delay feels dangerous.
Every opinion feels personal.
Every bad day feels like proof that we are failing.

We plan everything. Control everything. Worry about everything.

And still, life surprises us anyway.

Children somehow understand something we forget while growing up:
Life moves.
It changes.
It breaks plans.
It heals wounds.
It creates joy in ordinary moments.

And maybe that is exactly why we cannot hold it too tightly.

That does not mean becoming careless.
It means learning the difference between responsibility and emotional exhaustion.

Maybe we can work hard without carrying constant fear.
Maybe we can love deeply without controlling every outcome.
Maybe we can fail sometimes without deciding our worth from it.

Riyansh’s sentence made me realize how often I have lived in survival mode , trying to hold every piece of life together perfectly.

But children laugh in the middle of unfinished things.
They dance without worrying who is watching.
They forgive quickly.
They return to joy naturally.

Perhaps wisdom is not always becoming more serious.
Perhaps sometimes wisdom is becoming lighter again.

So today, I am keeping my son’s words close to my heart:

“Life ko bahot seriously lo mat… because life hum ko seriously nahi leti.”

And maybe, just maybe, healing also begins the day we learn to smile a little more gently at life itself.
